Saving big trees in paddocks
It's a tale that could be told here in central Kentucky, but it takes place in Australia. Large, lone trees in paddocks are succumbing to clearing, dieback and natural death. At the present rate of loss, the trees could be gone within 40 years. The trees are not only valuable for their scenic value, but also for their value to livestock, soil improvement and wildlife.  Almost the exact same process is occurring in the horse paddocks of central Kentucky.
